“One of the most divine singer/songwriters in the universe. She can crack you open and expose your rawness, then wrap you back up so you can leave safe and warm. She, Loren Kate, is a special one.”
-Phaedra Watts, Nannup Music Festival Director
Quickly gaining a reputation as an utterly captivating performer and brilliant storyteller, Loren’s connection to her audience has left many with both joy and tears.
When Loren Kate finished high school she set out in search of adventure. With a few dollars in her pocket she jumped on the train and headed to Northern NSW. She began busking for her dinner and shelter and learning about music from the local street folk. Now ten years on and Loren Kate is delighting audiences all over the world with her heart-warming and intimate storytelling-style.
Loren has toured Australia and performed at many major festivals including Woodford Folk Festival, WOMADelaide, The National Folk Festival, Nannup Music Festival WA, Peats Ridge Folk Festival, Fleurieu Folk Festival SA, Oenpelli Open Day NT and Fairbridge Music Festival.
In late 2014, Loren won the ‘Road to Discovery’, Australia’s most authentic grassroots talent development program for singer/songwriters. The win enabled Loren to record her new EP, 'Til Night Meets The Sun', produced by Glen Hannah and saw her perform at the 2015 Americana Festival in Nashville.
Most recently Loren has joined forces with dear friend and fellow singer/songwriter Sarah Humphreys to record a children’s album titled ‘Little Wonders.’
“If you haven’t heard of Loren Kate, you clearly haven’t been listening in the right places.”

I wrote this song for my ex-partner who passed away a few years ago. He was a dear friend and a big teacher in my life. On the way to the hospital to say my last goodbye, this song started writing itself. I was trying to find the words to say, but what can you say to someone who’s about to pass away? I just wanted him to feel my love, and take it with him. -Loren
